Upon planning my trip to Fiji, I knew for sure that I wanted to do a sailing trip and visit The Garden of the Sleeping Giant. I had read that it was one of the top things to do in Nadi. The garden has over 2,000 varieties of Asian orchids and Cattleya hybrids. It’s only $18 FJD ($8 USD / $11 AUD) to enter, and well worth it! The website calls it “one of the best kept horticultural secrets in the whole of the South Pacific,” and I’d have to agree — not that I actually have any experience with horticultural secrets, but it was beautiful, so whatever ;)!
You start by walking through their huge collection of orchids. I’ve never seen so many different kinds!
Next, you walk on a boardwalk through the Fijian jungle. It was beautiful to see so many native Fijian plants. It was HOT and so humid though so be prepared for that.
There were so many big tall palm trees and other amazing tropical flowers!
And lastly, there was an amazing jungle hammock… oh jungle hammock, I miss you already <3
