I recently went on a girls weekend trip and stayed in one of the coolest hotels in New Orleans! The Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery is a historic boutique hotel right in downtown NOLA, just a couple blocks from the French Quarter!
If you are looking for the best place to stay in New Orleans with good hotel room deals, then look no further than The Old No. 77 Hotel and Chandlery.

The hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the French Quarter which means it is close enough to be convenient, but not right in the middle of it so it’s not too loud and crazy at night!

Major Bonus? The Old No. 77 Hotel is pet-friendly! Pet beds, bowls, and treats are provided upon arrival! They’ll even recommend things to do in New Orleans that are dog friendly.

The Old No. 77 Hotel: The Lobby
The history of this hotel is apparent from the moment you walk into the lobby! The Old No. 77 Hotel was first built in 1854 and served as a warehouse for the Port of New Orleans.

Lets be honest… I didn’t use it, but for those who like to work out and stay in shape while traveling, they do have a pretty nice gym onsite!

The Old No. 77 Hotel partners with the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts and features local New Orleans art pieces all throughout the hotel.

We stayed in a premium room and it was HUGE! It was just two of us, but it would have easily been big enough for 4 people to share comfortably.

They have many different rooms to choose from, check them out here (all look just as wonderfully decorated as ours).
The decor and furniture are just as you’d hope for in a cool, boutique hotel! I think it’s safe to say that they are the best decorated hotel rooms in New Orleans. 😉
The beds are comfy, AND they even have a pillow menu… you can request soft, medium, firm, extra firm, and neck and body!

I appreciated the cheeky door hangers… They aren’t something you’d find in just any ole NOLA hotel and I really like that!

The Old No. 77 Hotel: The Restaurant and Bar
We were only in NOLA for a short 48 hours and didn’t have chance to try the restaurant located in the hotel, Compère Lapin. But after reading more about it, I’m pretty bummed we didn’t:
“Melding the soul of the Caribbean with the unparalleled flavors of New Orleans, Compère Lapin is a highlight of the local dining scene… Compère Lapin was named New Orleans’ 2016 Restaurant of the Year by The Times-Picayune. Chef Nina Compton highlights the indigenous ingredients of the Gulf while melding the cusine of her Caribbean upbringing with her love of French and Italian techniques.” – from the Old No. 77 Hotel website.

I did manage to snap some pics of the restaurant and bar. At night it was packed, so it must be a cool spot!

The Old No. 77 Hotel: Tout La Coffee Shop
Last but certainly not least, they have a super convenient grab and go coffee shop right in the lobby! In addition to a full coffee menu, they also offer house-made pastries each morning!

Are you convinced to stay here on your next NOLA trip yet? 😉 I cannot stress enough how much we enjoyed staying at The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery on our New Orleans trip!
PS – They often run special offers, check them out here!
