If you’re in Sydney, you know the weather has been absolutely amazing – every day is beach weather! I don’t mind this Australian “winter” at all 😉 I decided to take advantage of it and take the kiddos I nanny to a Sydney beach. Originally, I figured it’d be a good time to go check out Bondi Beach (it’s on my Australian bucket list), but my host family suggested a smaller, more low key beach since I had access to the car that day. They suggested we visit Little Bay Beach.
Little Bay Beach in Sydney
And WOW am I glad they did! It is such a quite, seclusive beach located in south Sydney. We almost couldn’t find it at first haha! Upon arrival, a pathway of wooden stairs leads you down to the beach, and that’s when you realize how beautiful it is!
The water is crystal clear and an amazing shade of blue. The sand is a goldish bronze color and full of shells. It’s also nice because it has clean bathrooms and a shower available to the public – AKA no more sandy kiddos in the car!

The bay is surrounded on both sides by tall cliffs and rocks making the water really calm and swimmable. In fact, there were quite a few people out swimming laps! And by quite a few, there were like 5 people — but considering there were only about 10 others total on the beach, relatively, it was quite a few.
The only downside of this beach is that for some reason, a ton of glass washes up. As long as your careful and look for it, you should be fine. On the same note, whatever causes all the glass to end up on the beach also causes a lot of beautiful shells to wash up too! I’m talking beautiful shells that you would normally buy for a ridiculous amount in a shell shop.
Minus the glass, I would highly recommend Little Bay for your next Sydney Beach day!

This is awesome to know! I have yet to make it to Bondi Beach myself but just went to Manly Beach…and it wasn’t even that nice of a day – but wow! I was really busy. So, I will definitely be keeping this beach in mind for a warm, sunny day! Thank you for the tip!

Bondi is great and I do love it, but sometimes it is nice to have a little quiet beach to go to when you want to avoid the crowds 🙂
