These plants are basically unkillable! They only need to be watered every 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the time of year.

Cactus: Low-maintenance house plant

As long as you keep your cactus in enough sunlight, away from any cold drafts, and watered every 2-3 weeks, these plant babies will last forever! If you’re traveling during the summer, just stick them outside in a sunny spot and let nature do the rest.

Succulents: Good plants for travelers

Succulents are traveler-friendly plants because they last 2-4 weeks between watering. If you have a lot of them, just fill your bathtub with 2-3 inches of water and place all of your succulents in until the top of the soil is damp before you leave.

As long as you keep your golden pothos in less direct sunlight, you can get away with not watering them for a couple of weeks. Alternatively, pothos can also grow in water/hydroponics systems as well!

If you need an adaptable plant companion that will grow no matter the conditions you leave it in, you can’t go wrong with a ZZ plant. Leave it in indirect light and it will survive for 4+ weeks without water!

Not only is the peace lily easy to take care of, but it’ll be working hard to purify your air while you’re away. It’ll just need a deep watering before you leave. If you do come home to a very sad-looking peace lily, don’t worry, just water it and watch it dramatically spring back to life!
