Indoor plants are the best! They purify the air, spruce up your space, and are a lot less work than a pet. But when you’re always hopping on the next flight out of town, they can be hard to take care of. And there’s nothing worse than coming home from a trip to a sad-looking plant. So what’s a girl to do? Choose hardy, low-maintenance plants and learn how to keep your plants alive while traveling, of course! Here’s my list of the best plants for frequent travelers!

Snake Plants: Traveler-friendly plant
These plants are basically unkillable! They only need to be watered every 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the time of year.
Cactus: Low-maintenance house plant
As long as you keep your cactus in enough sunlight, away from any cold drafts, and watered every 2-3 weeks, these plant babies will last forever! If you’re traveling during the summer, just stick them outside in a sunny spot and let nature do the rest.
Succulents: Good plants for travelers
Succulents are traveler-friendly plants because they last 2-4 weeks between watering. If you have a lot of them, just fill your bathtub with 2-3 inches of water and place all of your succulents in until the top of the soil is damp before you leave.

Golden Pothos: Easy, vining plant
As long as you keep your golden pothos in less direct sunlight, you can get away with not watering them for a couple of weeks. Alternatively, pothos can also grow in water/hydroponics systems as well!
Aloe: Drought-friendly plant for travelers
If you place your aloe plant in indirect sunlight and give them a deep watering before you leave, you’ll come back to a thriving plant. Plus, you can use its gel to soothe all of your post-travel boo-boos!
ZZ Plant: Low light traveler friendly plant
If you need an adaptable plant companion that will grow no matter the conditions you leave it in, you can’t go wrong with a ZZ plant. Leave it in indirect light and it will survive for 4+ weeks without water!
Peace Lily: One of the Best plants for Frequent Travelers
Not only is the peace lily easy to take care of, but it’ll be working hard to purify your air while you’re away. It’ll just need a deep watering before you leave. If you do come home to a very sad-looking peace lily, don’t worry, just water it and watch it dramatically spring back to life!
Jade Plant: low-maintenance plant
Place your jade plant in a spot with full sunlight and water it well before you leave and you’ll return to a healthy plant! The key is to let it completely dry out between watering, so you should be good for at least 2 weeks.

The cast iron plant is almost impossible to kill, so even the most neglectful of plant parents can handle it! Keep it out of direct sunlight and water it every 2-3 weeks.
Spider Plant: Travel friendly plant
The best way to keep a spider plant happy while you’re on summer vacation is to stick it outside in a somewhat shady spot! They love rain and humidity but aren’t too picky about anything else.
Bamboo: Lucky plant for travelers
Bamboo is a great choice for travelers because it’s very hardy. As long as you water deeply before you leave, it’ll last for a week or two without care!
