Kayak the Napa River with Napa Valley Paddle
One of my favorite parts of my 3-day trip to Downtown Napa was kayaking the Napa River with Napa Valley Paddle! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the river, and it was amazing to hear about how much it’s changed over the last 50 years even.

The 55-mile long river winds right through the center of Downtown Napa. I stayed at the Napa River Inn and the view was amazing! We met our guide and started the tour right down the block from the hotel.

Napa Valley Paddle
It was an easy, leisurely trip, which I appreciated. Napa Valley Paddle offers both guided and unguided tours. I personally enjoyed the guided one because we learned so much about the area. But they can also help suggest a self-guided route if you prefer that.

Kayak Tour on Napa River
There are two options if you decided to go the guided route: a 3.5 miles/2 hour option or a 5.2 miles/3 hour option. We did the 3.5 mile one and I thought it was the perfect amount of time. We had people that had never kayaked before, and they did just fine handling this tour, so it’s safe for beginners! They also keep the tour group small, usually 10 people max, which I like.

You can book your tour online. The 2-hour tour costs $69 per person. The 3 hour one, which includes a picnic while paddling, costs $109. They also offer a special Napa River Full Moon Paddle too! If you want to just do the self-guided kayaking or paddleboarding, they offer hourly, daily, weekend, and weekly rentals!

What do you think, would you give kayaking a try when visiting Downtown Napa? Let me know in the comments or send me a DM on Instagram!
