Live Aqua vs Grand Fiesta Americanas Los Cabos
I want to start out by explaining the difference between Live Aqua Private Residences and Grand Fiesta Americana Resort because I wasn’t sure at first when looking at the two properties.
Live Aqua Private Residences is a “sister property” to Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos and sits just behind the resort.

It is a short 3-minute golf cart ride from Live Aqua over to Grand Fiesta Americana and the shuttle service is available 24/7! Photo above from website.
Is Live Aqua better than Grand Fiesta Los Cabos?
Live Aqua Private Residences are more upscale than most of the accommodations at Grand Fiesta Americana. They are like private, luxury condos versus hotel rooms and there are only 35 available. BUT you can still enjoy all the same amenities as Grand Fiesta Americana guests.

While Live Aqua guests can enjoy either resort’s amenities, Grand Fiesta guests can NOT come to Live Aqua, so it’s a much smaller, more intimate feel.
For us, it was the best of both worlds! We enjoyed the amenities of a big resort but the feel of a small private one. We loved the more loud, party atmosphere at the main Grand Fiesta Americana pools, but once we were tired, we could go back to the Live Aqua pool and relax in a much quieter setting.

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either property, but I personally would want to stay at Live Aqua again!
Live Aqua Los Cabos Private Residences
Our Room: Live Aqua Two-Bedroom Private Residence
This was easily one of the most beautiful suites I’ve ever stayed in. Our two-bedroom residence had a full kitchen, living room, dining room, two bathrooms, a huge balcony with amazing views and a jacuzzi!

This is the giant king bed in the primary bedroom – and how cool is the welcome “sign” done in RICE on our bed?!

The secondary bedroom has two queen beds and its own bathroom as well.

I spent as much time as possible on our balcony, it was so nice and the view was to die for. We were lucky enough to visit during whale season and could see them breaching from our balcony!!

All rooms feature luxurious amenities such as rain showers, complimentary Wi-Fi, plush bedding, air conditioning, flat screen televisions and free bottled water. If that wasn’t enough to make you feel pampered, all guests have access to 24-hour room service!
See my full room tour here:
Other Residences Available
In addition to the two-bedroom residence we stayed in, they also have one-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, and even four-bedroom residences available.
The premier residences are more like a home and each has a semi-private pool — perfect for larger groups and families. The four-bedroom premier residence can accommodate up to 12 guests!

Food at Live Aqua + Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos
Often time people assume the food at all-inclusive resorts is going to be subpar, but that is not the case here! Here’s a preview of everything we ate:
Between the two properties, there are 10 restaurants to choose from. Nine at Grand Fiesta Americana and one at Live Aqua exclusively for Live Aqua guests:
Vina Del Mar – Breakfast buffet open ever day from 7 AM to 12 PM
Rosato – Gourmet Italian cuisine. SO GOOD — the lobster/surf and turf was amazingggg!

La Cevicheria – Delicious specialty fish and seafood dishes
Peninsula – Ocean front views with an international breakfast, Mediterranean for lunch, and Asian gastronomy in the evening

La Bodega – Argentine grill-style dishes with a Brazilian flair! Note: a surcharge of $30 USD per person is applied.
El Mexicano – Tastes of all different regions of Mexico.
Sushi Sky Bar – Sushi with incredible views of the resort

Mai at Live Aqua – Sophisticated culinary experience inspired by fresh local ingredients of Baja California Sur. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for Live Aqua guests only.

SOMMA Wine Spa
The SOMMA Wine Spa at Grand Fiesta American Los Cabos is the only spa in Mexico that incorporates the healing benefits of wine in its treatments! Currently (March 2023) the spa is undergoing a renovation but should be completed in early summer. Check out the renderings oh the new Spa:

The spa has 15 treatment rooms, ocean views, saunas, a gym, and a juice and wine bar. Treatments include everything from classic aromatherapy massages to Chardonnay and Champagne wraps!
While the spa is open in a temporary space during renovation, you can also book services directly in your room at Live Aqua! My husband and I enjoyed an incredible couple’s massage in our room:

Live Aqua + Grand Fiesta Americanas Los Cabos FAQs
These were the questions I got most on Instagram, so I figured I’d answer them here! Check out my Cabo story highlight for more.
Is Live Aqua All-Inclusive?
You decide! Live Aqua is a European plan (meaning food and drinks are not included) but you can upgrade to all-inclusive — even for just a day if you choose! The cost is $180 per person per day and I would say absolutely worth it.
Is the beach swimable at Live Aqua Los Cabos?
Most of the beaches in Cabo are not swimmable due to the strong currents, BUT the beach at Live Aqua and Grand Fiesta Americana actually is! You can also rent snorkel gear from the hotel to use too.

How do you get to Live Aqua Los Cabos from the Airport?
Grand Fiesta Americana and Live Aqua both offer shuttles from the airport. If you’re wanting a private shuttle, inquire with the hotel — they booked us a luxury, private SUV to and from the airport and it was so nice!
Did you feel safe at Live Aqua Los Cabos?
Absolutely! We felt safe the entire time, plus it’s a gated property with around-the-clock guards.
Would you go back?
1000%! We truly had the best time and cannot wait to go back. We’re already talking about doing a big group trip with friends!
I hope this Live Aqua Los Cabos review post was helpful! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to send me a DM on Instagram! I might even be able to hook you up a little 😉 Enjoy!!
