My Top 10 Destinations for 2018

When I sat down to think of my dream destinations for 2018, places like South Africa, Italy, Greece, and Spain all came to mind. But I’m working full time now and realized I had to be realistic about my travel goals for the year. I’m going to have to make the most of shorter trips. So with that in mind, I came up with 10 realistic, actually doable, destinations that I’d like to visit in 2018:

Top 10 Destinations for 2018

1. New Orleans

It will likely come as a shock to many of you that I have never been to New Orleans (or #2 on this list for that matter), but it’s true! Luckily, NOLA is drivable from Texas, and plenty of my friends enjoy going so this is definitely one of the more doable destinations on my list!

UPDATE: I made it! Check out my New Orleans posts here.

2. New York City

This is another shocking one. I can’t believe I’ve never been to New York City! But luckily, one of my best friends, Grace, will be coming in next December from Australia for a Texas Christmas! We are then planning to go to NYC for some time as well 🙂 Already counting down the days till then!

3. Marfa, Texas

This has been one I’ve been wanting to go to for a while! I really don’t have any excuse for not going since it’s in my home state. And, it’s not official or anything yet, but Taylor Wink (the guy that made the awesome New Zealand video) and I have been talking about teaming up for this, so if it happens, you can expect some pretty sweet content — Roger Beasley Mazda might be involved too! 😉

4. Miami to Key West

Miami is great, but if you’re looking for a more low-key vibe, Key West is the place! I’ve heard nothing but good things about this drive and am dying to go somewhere tropical again.

5. The Grand Canyon & Horseshoe Bend – DONE!

Every photo I’ve seen of Horseshoe Bend is beautiful! I’d really like to get out and explore the Grand Canyon and this area in 2018. I’ve been to Bryce and Zion Canyon and loved it, so I’m sure I’d enjoy these places too.

Monument Valley, Arizona — DONE!

During my Utah National Park trip, I got to see Monument Valley. It’s incredible in person!

Banff National Park, Canada

This was a very popular destination for 2016/2017 and I had lots of friends visit and rave about it! It’s definitely on my list for this summer!

Chicago, IL

Another USA city I can’t believe I’ve never visited! I think it would be great to visit in the fall. And I HAVE to get a photo with the big bean!!

Nashville, TN

I’ve been to Tennessee before, but didn’t make it up to Nashville! I love country music and I have a friend that lives there, so I can’t wait to visit!

Hawaii

I don’t really have to explain this one haha. I’m SO dying to go, and have been forever! I’m not sure I’ll make it there this year, but hey, a girl can dream right?

I’m also in search of travel partners, so if anyone wants to come with, let me know 😉

  1. This is quite bizarre, but i have just posted on our road trip in South Africa that we recently did last month. your top 10 that are close to you, are totally unrealistic to me, as South Africa, Italy and others are to you:) but maybe looking at each others posts, we can just imagine what it is like. well done on your post, there are some spots there that i would love to visit:)

  2. I’m planning to get to New Orleans this year too and Chicago is another on my potential list. You’ll love NYC and Nashville though – two incredible cities and both a lot of fun 🙂
