There is a reason everyone raves about Pilates, it’s a killer workout and gives you that great, lean muscle tone. Now, take the mat Pilates that you know and love, and supercharge it… that’s what you’ll get at Pure Pilates Austin on the Megaformer. This 45-minute class will literally have your muscles exhausted and shaking by the end. This is not your typical “let’s lay down and stretch” kinda Pilates class.
I started going to Pure Pilates before I moved to Australia and genuinely missed it while there. After moving back to Austin, I was so excited to hear they opened a third location on South Lamar!

12 Reasons You’ll Love Pure Pilates Austin
1. You’ll Never Get Bored
As someone who gets bored easily, I can promise each and every class will keep you engaged because each and every class is completely different. There are so many different moves and variations that no class is ever the same!

2. You’ll Target Muscle Groups You Didn’t Know You Had
You’ll know what I mean the next day… muscles you didn’t even know you had will be SORE (in a good way, of course).

3. You Can Really Focus on Technique
Unlike most workout classes, the goal of Pilates is to go as slow as possible. Because of that, you’re able to really focus on the technique and your form, which means you’re less likely to get injuries.

4. The Pure Pilates Austin Instructors and Music are Great
The music is always upbeat and motivating and the instructors are great at really explaining the moves and helping correct technique.

5. Your Abs Will Work The Entire Time
Since you are always having to balance, your core is engaged almost the entire time. You’ll see a difference in your core strength after just a couple of classes.

6. You Don’t Have to Worry About Getting “Bulky”
The moves you do in pilates are focused on creating lean, toned muscles instead of short, bulky ones that are typically formed with heavy weight lifting.
8. The Workout is Non-Impact
As someone with bad knees and ankles, I really can’t do exercises that are high-impact. Luckily, Pilates is non-impact and focuses on smooth, continuous movements to build muscle. You’re much less likely to get an injury with this kind of workout.

10. You Get To Workout In Socks
Socks > Shoes. I love the Sticky Be Socks (pictured below), they’re super soft, but they’re pretty expensive. I recently just got these socks and they honestly have the best grip and are much cheaper!

11. The Pure Pilates Austin Studio is Really Nice
There is nothing worse than working out in a grungy, old, dirty gym. I love how clean and bright the Pure Pilates studios are!

12. You Know You Got a Good Workout at Pure Pilates Austin
By the end of this 45-minute class, you’ll know you got a great workout and that is always such a rewarding feeling. Note: the picture below is NOT me after class haha I’m usually laying down, red in the face, dripping in sweat… but the smile does reflect how I feel at the end of it!
